Kathleen and I will be taking a Major Road Trip every year. We'll share our adventures in this section of the web site. This year we decided to do a "mega"-Road Trip and left the Tuesday after Super Bowl Sunday. We wanted to head south to Texas and some warmer weather first. Then over to the Grand Canyon and eventually out to San Diego to position us for a drive up the California Coast to San Francisco. Well, we did it. Check out the "2003" Tab, above, to see some of the 532 pictures I took on this 7,373 mile sojourn. Above: Kathleen and I at the El Tovar, a first class hotel situated on the rim of the Grand Canyon. Built of native boulders and Oregon Pine, the majestic, 100 room hotel opened January 14, 1905, It was named El Tovar in honor of the Spanish explorer Pedro de Tovar who had led the first expedition to Hop Indian country in 1540. Road Trip 2002 - Last year we headed south then over to Key West before turning north to New York City. This year we will be heading south, then west to California.
