I take the Orion across the lake every year. Usually we set sail during the latter part of August because my sons have been in school. I like to cross Lake Michigan at night to allow us to pull into the public marina's early in the morning. Most are first come first serve. We spend the week sailing up the coast of Michigan. We sail 20 to 30 miles every day and hit a new port every afternoon. It is a great vacation!
